Jadi Pegawai Kemenkeu, Why Not?

Hi people! I’ve been on and off on blogging this karena aku sibuk dengan pekerjaan baruku. Selain jadi editor + owner dari web The It Girl, aku juga pegawai loh.

Prasetya Perwira 2014

Prasetya Perwira is a inauguration ceremony for Indonesian soldiers (army, navy, and air forces). And last year I got a chance to attend it with my boyfriend's big family. It was tearful and I was proud to see my boyfriend was inaugurated as Second Lieutenant. Before the inauguration, I also got a chance to visit him in his military academy for "Malam Pengantar Tugas". It was maybe like a prom.

And, here are some tips for girls when you attending this kind of occasion:
  • Wear something comfortable. We all know beauty is pain, but, as a military girlfriend you should know that when you attend this occasion make sure that you are effortlessly gorgeous.
  • Consider what shoes you will wear. You have to know the place you're going to. I suggest you to wear 3-5 cm heels because you might have to walk far away just to see the inauguration and enough to make your feet hurt.
I wore sheer silk kebaya and silk bottom and still feeling hot. I also wore 4 cm gold wedges. I saw many girls who were too.. uhm.. what's the proper way to say.. maybe over-dressed? Just remember that this is not a beauty pageant content. Lol.

About Blaming

When I was browsing around the internet, got nothing to do, my boyfriend is on his military training in the jungle (with poor mobile phone signal, and limited charging station), suddenly I thought about blaming each other. I heard a lot of people love to blame each other when something bad happens. I'm not saying that I never blame other for bad things happened on me. I'm a really stubborn person (I hope next year this stubbornness gone from me forever). And I asked my self, when will this blaming each other stop?

It depends on each individual actually. When something bad happened on me, I tried to think that it's not someone's fault. Shit happens. That's all. If I keep trying look for whose fault it is, then the problem would never be solved. And blaming myself isn't helpful too after all. When I'm having problem, the first thing I need to do is find the solution. And evaluate myself. Think why it happens. If it's clear that I did a mistake, then I should apologize. If it's clearly someone's mistake, and he/she didn't apologize for it, don't blame him/her straight away but try to speak to him/her for the helpful solution. It takes a lot of patience for not blaming someone.

When will people be tired of blaming each other?

Stop blaming is a part of being mature.

5 Things I Do in the Morning

Morning is my most favorite time. I'm a morning person. No matter how late I sleep, I will wake at around 6 a.m. I love doing things in the morning. There are a lot of things I do in the morning, but usually I do these things.

1. Pray
Every morning after I wake up, my mother taught me to always pray. I always feel better after praying. By praying in the morning, I could contemplate things around me, give thanks for everything I have and hope I would not make the same mistake again.

2. Jogging
Well, I try to achieve C25K running (a running method for beginner that helps me to achieve 5K in two months). I use C25K free android app when running. It's quite difficult for me because I don't want to go jogging after 6 a.m. I prefer to jog at around 5 a.m. I feel happier after morning jogging, and the weird thing is I could stay fit until midnight If I do morning jogging.

3. Playing with my dogs
It's a must. I have two dogs named Totti and Poteto with different characters. Totti is a fat half-pomeranian and a grumpy one, doesn't like kids. Poteto is a half-beagle and half-golden retriever super hyperactive dog, really likes kids, loves playing fetch, loves eating fruits (Poteto loves strawberries, mangos, watermelons, tomatos but he doesn't like bananas, oreos, loaf).

4. Breakfast
I will not make my day if I don't have a great breakfast. My favorite breakfast is veggies salad. Yum. Simple breakfast but I really love it. I don’t do any fancy diet like people do now these days. I eat whatever I want to. But I limit eating something delicious sinful foods.

5. Create to-do list
It's important to create to-do list for me. It helps me to manage my day. But you gotta be realistic when you create this. Do what you can do today. And don't procrastinate it! (But I'm a good procrastinator).

Those are my 5 things in the morning. What about you? Let me know about it.

Life After College

As soon-to-be-graduated student (Yay! Congratulations for myself) I really can't wait to be graduated. But, actually what am I gonna do after graduation? Graduation may be one the happiest day in my life. All of my hard works for 4 years finally will be paid off. But being graduated doesn't make me feel I'm a better person. There are more people who are successful even though they didn't go to college or people who failed to finish college.

And being graduated means that we will have more new harder experiences, like, to survive in your life. I've been surviving my life since my father died when I went at college for the first day. I didn't want my mother to worry about me, so I tried few efforts to survive, include scholarships, etc. Life after college might be harder and might be more challenging. We will deal with a lot of unique people. Experiencing to work at companies, or maybe building your own company.

I choose to build my own company. I know it will be a difficult and long journey. I have dreams too. And no matter how difficult obstacles that will come to me, I always believe those obstacles will make me stronger. Right now I work as a web designer at a small company in my town. I love the job, it helps me to gain new lessons and experiences that I didn’t learn at college. The truth is, what you learned at college sometimes isn't that useful in real life.

During Blogging Break

Few months ago, I had been busy with many things. Too busy, so I had to leave my blogging routine. Well, this is for good! I spent my time for undergraduate thesis and it was really.. an unforgettable moment. I woke up morning and turned on my computer, and worked on my thesis till night. Some of my friends worked, like, until the next morning. I wasn't like that. I tried to keep my good time management. I still sleep average 8 hours sleep every day. But one thing I didn't maintain was my exercise routine. And now I feel like pain is coming every morning when I wake up. Less exercises make my body getting tired quicker.

Beside thesis, I also took my time for my boyfriend. In case you didn't know my boyfriend, he is an army soldier. And he spends most of his time for serving my country. Can you imagine how many time he has for me? I mean, since we were in a relationship (two years ago), we've met for less than 20 times. And I have to be ready whenever he told me to visit him somewhere. Luckily, I was still be able to see his graduation even though I was in the middle of thesis. Congratulations my boy! He was promoted as second lieutenant infantry. I'm really proud of him.
Before he was graduated, I was so lucky to be invited in his farewell party at his military academy. So that I could see where my boyfriend was educated for these 4 years. And it was like a prom. It was an exciting yet romantic moment. (Sounds cheesy, but it is love! LOL)

Finally, thesis is over. And soon I'll be graduated. I still need some stuff to be done before graduation (preparing graduation dress is one of them). So, I guess I'll be totally free after my graduation. I'm so sorry that some of you had emailed me but I was too busy to read it. And I couldn't handle more projects that you had proposed me. Have a great wednesday!
